Oh, the ennui of buzz listeners these days

Sarah [12:38 PM]:
i think that was Discover or one of the other bottomfeeders tho
Sarah [12:39 PM]:
maybe poo would work tho
beardsley [12:39 PM]:
People generally don't like poo. THat might be the winning ticket
Sarah [12:39 PM]:
just a big smear on the credit app with a circle and an arrow "this is poo. this is what i think of your credit offer."
Sarah [12:40 PM]:
i would say ' this may or may not be poo. ' to protect myself from a lawsuit.
beardsley [12:40 PM]:
Hahahaha
Sarah [12:42 PM]:
What do you think about the Shins? i think they're probably too gay for you.
beardsley [12:42 PM]:
I'll listen to the shins now ...
Sarah [12:42 PM]:
and not gay in the way that phish is gay.
beardsley [12:43 PM]:
So far they seem Duran Duran gay. These shins are brit, aren't they
Sarah [12:44 PM]:
i recommend phantom limb
beardsley [12:44 PM]:
I like it so far
beardsley [12:44 PM]:
Makes me wanna poo outta my vag
beardsley [12:44 PM]:
In a good way
beardsley [12:45 PM]:
I've heard this before
Sarah [12:45 PM]:
yeah,it's on teh buzz
beardsley [12:45 PM]:
I stopped listening to that crapjax
beardsley [12:46 PM]:
Now I don't get to listen to music on the radio, thx to them and their crap
Sarah [12:46 PM]:
them? who?
beardsley [12:46 PM]:
Tha Buzz people
beardsley [12:46 PM]:
That station is banned
Sarah [12:46 PM]:
why
Sarah [12:47 PM]:
i just started listening to mylist mornings today. i usually can't take it, but the girl this AM intrigued me
Sarah [12:47 PM]:
most people have horrendous taste in music
beardsley [12:47 PM]:
That's one reason. "My List" crap
beardsley [12:47 PM]:
Nothing good in the PM, nothing good in the AM
Sarah [12:47 PM]:
latzi's mixing it up in the pm. you don't like?
beardsley [12:48 PM]:
WTF is a latzi?
Sarah [12:48 PM]:
hes playing quite a bit that you don't normally hear.
Sarah [12:48 PM]:
lazlo
beardsley [12:48 PM]:
Oh, that show pisses me off. We don't need their favors ... keeping up the show from WA. Who the eff do they think they are? There are people local who can DJ a decent radio show.
Sarah [12:48 PM]:
like last night i heard him go from cypress hill right into the Shins
Sarah [12:49 PM]:
not that i advocate cypress hill
beardsley [12:49 PM]:
They need to effing hire Robert Moore
Sarah [12:49 PM]:
he's a total doosh
beardsley [12:49 PM]:
Dude, I KNOW that guy. That's not cool.
Sarah [12:50 PM]:
i don't know him. so big deal. he may be a fine person, but on the air he sounds like a total doosh
beardsley [12:50 PM]:
And Lazlo doesn't?!
Sarah [12:50 PM]:
He DOES!
beardsley [12:50 PM]:
He has an effing speech problem
Sarah [12:51 PM]:
i'm not defending lazlo's honor like you are defending moore's
beardsley [12:51 PM]:
Actually, I don't care a lot for the guy. He's kind of a dic. One of those peeps from CA who think they're better
Sarah [12:51 PM]:
and you can totally tell
beardsley [12:51 PM]:
But at least he could firm up some good songs
beardsley [12:52 PM]:
Seriously, tho, they gotta drop Lazlo and his nasty wife and whipping boy.
Sarah [12:52 PM]:
i'd say i like about 5o to 60% of what's played on Sonic Spectrum.
beardsley [12:52 PM]:
They do NOTHING for KC radio.
Sarah [12:52 PM]:
as opposed to about 25% of what's on the buzz/
Sarah [12:52 PM]:
wow you totally have a vendetta all of the sudden. You used to be a listener.
Sarah [12:52 PM]:
you sound like rambo
beardsley [12:53 PM]:
I feel like Rambo sometimes
beardsley [12:53 PM]:
I'm just sick of our lame radio scene, tis all. I'm old school and I listen to the radio to hear new artists.
Sarah [12:53 PM]:
did you just hit a tipping point with Lazlo?
beardsley [12:53 PM]:
I can't do that no mo.
beardsley [12:53 PM]:
Yes!
Sarah [12:54 PM]:
the whole - never mentions k.c. thing get to you?
beardsley [12:54 PM]:
YES. It does. I hate that.
Sarah [12:54 PM]:
it bothers me. tho i think it's understandable. people on the coasts are judgemental simpletons.
Sarah [12:54 PM]:
lazlo knows the audience.
Sarah [12:54 PM]:
that's all i say.
beardsley [12:54 PM]:
He's not that good of a DJ the way he lines up songs doesn't flow.
beardsley [12:55 PM]:
He came from a Top 40 background, I'm willing to bet
Sarah [12:55 PM]:
like you're prof dj or somethin!!
Sarah [12:55 PM]:
he came from talk radio I think
Sarah [12:55 PM]:
and alt
beardsley [12:55 PM]:
Maybe I am prof DJ. Maybe I AM.
Sarah [12:55 PM]:
you should be able to snoop out his history online.
Sarah [12:55 PM]:
DJ RAMBO
beardsley [12:56 PM]:
I don't give an eff enough about his stuck up cooter to even dig
beardsley [12:56 PM]:
You know what I listen to now?!
beardsley [12:56 PM]:
N P EFFING R!
Sarah [12:56 PM]:
you're wrong about him man. seriously. he's just trying to be a smart business man.
Sarah [12:56 PM]:
i listen to a TON more npr than i have in years.
Sarah [12:56 PM]:
i'll give you that
beardsley [12:56 PM]:
That's fine, but they LEFT kc; let it GO.
beardsley [12:56 PM]:
Let someone else represent
Sarah [12:57 PM]:
I think they're trying to get syndicated
Sarah [12:57 PM]:
i support them in that
beardsley [12:57 PM]:
They're not good enough for that.
Sarah [12:57 PM]:
even if we are their ugly lovechild
beardsley [12:57 PM]:
If he dropped his wife, maybe, but not with her on the show
Sarah [12:57 PM]:
They are good enough and you know it.
beardsley [12:57 PM]:
HE is. I can see that.
Sarah [12:57 PM]:
She appeals to a demographic you really aren't in touch with
Sarah [12:57 PM]:
why be a h8r.
beardsley [12:57 PM]:
I know I know. Fat greek women.
Sarah [12:58 PM]:
No. you're such a fat girl h8r.
beardsley [12:58 PM]:
It's got nuttin to do with her as a person
Sarah [12:58 PM]:
i know
beardsley [12:58 PM]:
It's her as an on-air personality
Sarah [12:58 PM]:
i know
Sarah [12:58 PM]:
i'm not talking about them personally at all. i'm not even sure i could really.
beardsley [12:58 PM]:
They're effing married ... they can't have a good show
Sarah [12:59 PM]:
i think your logic is flawed, but i'm interested in your opinion.
Sarah [12:59 PM]:
because you're my litmus test for what the average listener thinks
beardsley [12:59 PM]:
That's the worst thing I've ever been told. Today.
Sarah [12:59 PM]:
i think being married makes it more interesting
beardsley [1:00 PM]:
You're right. It probably does.
Sarah [1:00 PM]:
come on. you really are kind of the standard buzz listener.
Sarah [1:00 PM]:
me too. i'm not exempt. but i tend to think a little more deeply about the goings on since i've been a hanger-on for so long.
beardsley [1:00 PM]:
I think there is unknown talent around these streets
Sarah [1:00 PM]:
slimfast was such a talent
beardsley [1:01 PM]:
Yeah.
Sarah [1:01 PM]:
and i'm sorry if people don't see that, but that guy is talented.
beardsley [1:01 PM]:
I liked him
beardsley [1:01 PM]:
His afternoon show was improving
Sarah [1:01 PM]:
it WAS
beardsley [1:01 PM]:
But they pulled it!
beardsley [1:01 PM]:
And sent him to WA!
Sarah [1:01 PM]:
bcz of the danny boi drama
beardsley [1:02 PM]:
I didn't listen much to the AM show
Sarah [1:02 PM]:
rather unexpectedly. and she didn't have a co-host
Sarah [1:02 PM]:
so they pulled slim in.
Sarah [1:02 PM]:
but i think she was losing her connectio nto it anyway being so far away and i think that was the last straw
Sarah [1:03 PM]:
i thought they were getting along well in the AM, but who knows.
beardsley [1:03 PM]:
That's just bad bad bad. If you leave KC, you need to hang up your mic
Sarah [1:03 PM]:
i know, because you h8 fat girls
beardsley [1:03 PM]:
Let someone local take over, or bring someone in from outside
Sarah [1:03 PM]:
i think it would be awesome if they were syndicated, even awesome for KC radio
beardsley [1:03 PM]:
Yeah, but that's cuz you're buds w/him.
Sarah [1:03 PM]:
nationally or moved to sirius or something and he started out in KC.
Sarah [1:03 PM]:
not really.
beardsley [1:03 PM]:
He could have been syndicated from KC
Sarah [1:04 PM]:
yeah, i'm not sure they'd even cop, even after a big syndication deal, to having cut their teeth as a team in KC
Sarah [1:04 PM]:
so yeah, i'm disenchanted with that.
beardsley [1:04 PM]:
I think radio KC has died.
Sarah [1:05 PM]:
i'd love to be able to go have a beer with them and discuss where they're coming from on that. i think it's probably not as bad as it sounds.
Sarah [1:05 PM]:
esp since i'm a long-time supporter. i stuck with them you know? when they were going to get the ax -- i called, i emailed, i did what i could...so i'm more invested is all.
beardsley [1:05 PM]:
Well, I mean, radio KC was never that good to begin with
beardsley [1:06 PM]:
And this is how they thank you
Sarah [1:06 PM]:
so i'd like to hear why the cold shoulder.
Sarah [1:06 PM]:
and part of me thinks, cool that they're still on the air...i guess that is my thanks
Sarah [1:07 PM]:
but as you alluded to earlier, it feels like a favor, but half-hearted in that they avoid mentioning us.
Sarah [1:07 PM]:
i mean, i guess they could've gone off the air totally. and that would've made me sad.
Sarah [1:07 PM]:
but this is kind of sadder actually.
beardsley [1:07 PM]:
Yeah, I know what you mean. Were you around here when the Lazer was around then changed formats?
Sarah [1:08 PM]:
no i was in mpls, but i understand there was a similar feeling attached to that station.
Sarah [1:08 PM]:
it's the classic tale of alt-rock radio in the Midwest, dude.
Sarah [1:08 PM]:
it always ends the same.
beardsley [1:08 PM]:
Yeah, they were my Buzz. They'd play tons of good local stuff
Sarah [1:09 PM]:
i listened to them in H.S. they were good
Sarah [1:09 PM]:
the dj's sucked arse but you know, the music was pretty much everything that was breaking at that time
Sarah [1:09 PM]:
and that time was a diff time for alt music even, so i know the story of the lazer is more altruistic all around.
Sarah [1:10 PM]:
but the buzz was our big-ol corporate attempt at a lazer.
beardsley [1:10 PM]:
It's time to start our own station
Sarah [1:10 PM]:
and accept that or not, it was a novel try
Sarah [1:10 PM]:
and i think it pretty much succeeded.
Sarah [1:11 PM]:
Some listeners from teh buzz contacted Jason regarding that idea
Sarah [1:11 PM]:
starting their own internet station
Sarah [1:11 PM]:
cool idea. but it wouldn't reach the masses in the way that free, corporate radio does.
beardsley [1:12 PM]:
Yeah. I know it. Buzz is more grounded than banned. I'll go a week or two and not listen to them, tho.
beardsley [1:12 PM]:
I'm just too frustrated
Sarah [1:12 PM]:
i hear you.
beardsley [1:18 PM]:
There is good news, tho
beardsley [1:18 PM]:
I saw an ad on TV this morning
beardsley [1:18 PM]:
There's a new country station on 106.5
Sarah [1:18 PM]:
yr the devil

mah-deed

husbands, don't act like your lady is overreacting (or worse yet, ignore her) simply because she's talking about something you don't care to hear about.

wifeys, don't use your husbands as your verbal springboards. they only hear like 10% of what comes out of your mouth anyway.

now back to your respective corners.
